Paramount Fine Foods Centre-Mississauga

Beginning July 1, the downtown Mississauga sports stadium will be formally named the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. A new naming rights agreement and food services agreement was previously announced between the City of Mississauga and Paramount Fine Food, a Mississauga-based restaurant chain. Hershey Canada Inc. did not renew its naming rights agreement will expire on June 30. The agreement signed by Founder and CEO Mohamad Fakih with the city is for ten years.

Paramount Fine Foods Center will have the Hershey Centre, ice rinks, field house, and outdoor sports fields, including the spectator arena, ice rinks, and field house. The changes to signage and enhancements will reflect the new partnership and name change.

Originally known as Hershey Centre, this multi-million dollar complex is located at Rose Cherry Place in Mississauga, a place named for Mississauga IceDogs owner and founder Don Cherry. Kennedy Road ends at Matheson Boulevard East, which is the closest major intersection. SportsZone opened in 2007 just to the north of the main bowl and features multi-sport facilities. Besides housing two indoor soccer fields, the facility also housed a full-size FIBA basketball court, a gymnastics center, and a full-size outdoor soccer field.

In her announcement, Mayor Bonnie Crombie referred to the center as a “cherished landmark” in the city. Aside from hosting events like Carassauga and being used by amateur athletes throughout the year, it is home to the Mississauga Steelheads and the Raptors 905.

This summer, the Paramount Fine Foods Centre will host the Royal Canadian Family Circus, Camp 905, Classics & Rods Review Show 2018, and the Duke University Basketball Canada Tour.
