Stouffville skateboard park around Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON, Canada is an awesome and popular skate park for adults and kids skate enthusiasts. Residents can skateboard at the park, no matter what level skater they are. The park has a good mix of slopes, banks and ramps to help any skater improve their skills in a safe place.
“This is probably one of the best parks around… it’s got an awesome variety of things to do,” said local Stouffville skateboard member Simon Escobar.
The park is about five minutes away from the town centre and has been open for nine years now.
“My kids love it here,” said Aileen Woodier, who takes her two children to the park often. “It is a safe and encouraging environment that welcomes all skill levels of skaters no matter what age they are. If you want to have fun while learning new tricks this is the perfect place for you.”
There is a strict code of conduct in place for residents so that everyone can be safe while having fun at the local skatepark. The rules include wearing protective safety equipment like helmets and pads while skating at the park and using proper language towards other members when playing at the park with others.
The skatepark underwent a major renovation in November of 2013 and since its reopening, it has seen an increase in attendance from residents.
“It’s so nice that they do this for the kids,” said Woodier, “There are not many other places like this where you can have fun.”
Residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville who wish to use Stouffville skateboard park are required to get a membership pass which can be purchased at the town hall.
The park is well maintained, but there are still a few issues. For example, from the end of the year to about March the half-pipe becomes rotten and becomes difficult to use safely. Also, there was a large tree that had grown over one of the ramps which makes it nearly impossible to skate through since you would need to jump on only some parts of it.
These issues need to be addressed immediately because they affect the safety of everyone who skates at this location. The sooner these problems can be fixed, the better for everyone who uses this skatepark.
Because Stouffville skateboard park is so popular in Whitchurch-Stouffville, it gets quite busy during peak times on weekends and holidays during summertime when school is out. So if you want to go skating in the morning or evening around those times, you might have a difficult time finding a place since there are so many people using the same ramp at one time.
Overall, Stouffville skateboard park has a good design, but it could be much better if the problems mentioned above are fixed.
There is no way to improve this skatepark because it was made specifically for Stouffville and its needs during that period. If new changes were made, then it would not fit with what the town wants. Those changes might cause confusion and upset other members of the Whitchurch-Stouffville community who use this park frequently as well as visiting skaters from outside the community.
There is no need to build a new skatepark because there are at least 5 or 6 other places you can go and practice skating during the time of year when Stouffville skateboard park becomes too busy.
Stouffville skateboard park is a great place to spend time with your friends and if you want to go skating at night, pretty much every weekend they have people out cleaning it up so it’s always fresh. There is nice seating and vending machines near the entrance of the park. The best part about this skatepark is that during the week you get some amazing practice for the weekend.
The best time of year to visit Whitchurch-Stouffville’s Stouffville skateboard park is during the summer from June to September. The weather gets nice and warm, which makes it a great time for skating because you can still be outside without being too cold.
If you are looking for something to do on a weekend with your friends or family, then this place is most definitely one of your best options.
