Pickering Soccer Centre

Pickering Soccer Centre is a sports complex in Pickering, Ontario with complete sports facilities such as a football pitch, tennis courts, an asphalt track and a baseball diamond. It has a large dome with 4 mini soccer fields or one full-size field.

It is home to the Pickering United Football Club. The dome opened in September 2000 and cost $3 million. The name of the facility was based on an anonymous donor who gave $1.5 million to construct it.

The dome is a state-of-the-art structure that provides year-round sports as well as hosting events and tournaments. The facility has air conditioning and a new lighting system was added in 2008 to accommodate the usage of the pitch during nighttime hours. Pickering Soccer Centre hosted the 2003 Canada Summer Games soccer competition involving over 1,300 athletes from across Canada.

Pickering United Football Club, whose home pitch is at the dome facility was founded in 1985 by a group of local Pickering soccer enthusiasts. The club offers numerous teams which operate out of the dome, including men’s & women’s senior and junior divisions as well as various youth divisions.

The centre hosts many tournaments each year including Canadian Championship games for Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) and Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association (EDSA), EODSA playoffs, Bantam Boys’ Championships, Ontario Summer Games hosted by OSA, Canada Day Cup played by SC Toronto.

In 2004 and 2005 two US Developmental Academy Clubs played their academy league matches at PSC in order to prepare for the U FIFA Youth Champions Cup. From 2005 to 2008 the Dome hosted the semi-professional team Durham Storm, who played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPSL).
In 2011 Pickering Soccer Centre hosted a soccer tournament featuring clubs from across North America with other teams coming from England and Germany.

There are also meeting rooms and party areas for special occasions such as birthday parties, wedding receptions, etc.

Facilities at Pickering Soccer Centre include:

The Full Field House: This includes a canteen with a seating capacity of 200 persons, dressing rooms, storage, offices & officials’ room with private washrooms. It hosts indoor soccer games. There is also a clubhouse for the Pickering United Football Club supporters with a seating capacity of 800 persons and a food & refreshments service.

The Pavilion – It has washrooms and can be subdivided into 3 smaller rooms or can be used as one large room for functions, parties or banquets.

The Mini Dome – This dome has 4 full-size soccer pitches which are floodlit for night play facilities, laundry/restroom & storage areas. The floors of these mini-pitches drain in case of rain to provide an unobstructed playing surface. There are also meeting rooms available within this building; Alcohol is prohibited on this site at all times.

Very well organized facility with plenty of parking. Public park directly across the street from the facility with plenty of parking.

Pickering Soccer Centre is a great location for all kinds of fitness, especially callisthenics, and cardio. The flooring in the fieldhouse is perfect for doing your exercise routines. There are also various weight machines and racks to use if you need to build strength. Basketball can be played on a mini court located in the soccer dome complex. There are also pickup games of soccer, football and other sports that you may want to participate in.

Pickering Soccer Centre is also great for people who enjoy playing pick-up sports; basketball, soccer, handball or just like to play catch. A number of courts and pitches are available at the facility.

Pickering Soccer Centre is a great place to gather with friends and family for recreation, sports games, birthday parties or other special events.
